Open to all women, whether they have had their first baby or their fifth, and of course babies are always welcome. Group is free to all.
This drop-in support group is for postpartum women who are experiencing stress, depression, anxiety or simply trying to navigate their new role as a mother. The group focuses on giving support, learning skills for coping, managing the stress related to the transition to motherhood. Having social support from a group of other mothers has been shown to help in the recovery of pregnancy and postpartum mood changes.

WHERE YOGIS ARE BORN
At bend, we focus on supporting women and their children during their child rearing years through pre and post natal yoga, educational offerings, and supportive services. We serve the unique needs of children through playful and exciting exercises, while also providing instruction for the needs of their families. We offer yoga classes for expecting and new mothers, children 6 weeks to 18 years of age, as well as family options in a non-competitive and stress-free atmosphere. The yoga practice incorporates aspects of overall physical health, encourages body awareness, and promotes a focus on breathing. Through fun and engaging classes, children will develop stronger bodies and minds and an enhanced sense of themselves.
Because the studio promotes a non-competitive, respectful environment, we ask that you review the following with your kids prior to coming to class: Respect yourself, respect others, respect your environment. Be kind and have fun!
Our studio is located on Charlottesville’s historic downtown pedestrian mall. We validate parking for the Water Street & Market Street garages.
Interested in sponsoring a child to attend classes? Want your child to attend classes but can’t afford it? Inquire at email@example.com. We have several yogis who need financial assistance to attend classes and would appreciate your support!
