It takes a village

I wrote a post a couple of years ago about how much bend means to me and my family. We moved here when our oldest was just 9 weeks old, knowing no one and miles from family, and Ben and I settled into a routine centered around twice a week Sweet Peas with Kelly. Five years later, we feel deeply rooted in Charlottesville and most of our connections still tie back to that sweet family yoga studio on the downtown mall.

When Kelly was diagnosed with breast cancer this past spring, I was grateful to be able to step in and give something back to the woman and community that has given so much to us. And I wasn’t alone. Our staff stepped up to help fill Kelly’s enormous shoes and friends who love the studio stepped in to watch my kids when I needed to be there. At the same time, so many of you were reaching out to Kelly to wish her well, to keep her company, to bring her food. It has been overwhelming to be a part of this village as we take care of one another.

I’m so grateful that Kelly is on the other side of cancer now and back with us at the studio.

I’m so grateful for the studio.

I’m so grateful for you.

Thank you for being a part of this village.
